Our founder, Steven Pelham, a Kuku Yalanji Traditional Owner, established Yalanji Dreaming as a bridge between his heritage and the transformative power of technology.
The name Yalanji Dreaming reflects this connection, acknowledging the enduring wisdom of the Kuku Yalanji people and their ongoing journey towards a brighter future.

Steven Pelham, founder of Yalanji Dreaming, is a Kuku Yalanji Traditional Owner. A passionate advocate for social good, his career has been dedicated to empowering Indigenous communities and fostering cultural awareness across Australia, particularly within remote communities.
As a family man, Steven understands the importance of balancing cultural heritage with building a brighter future. His extensive travels throughout the continent have instilled in him a profound understanding of the diverse needs and aspirations of Indigenous Australians.
For over a decade, Steven honed his expertise managing Brand & Communications for a global mining company. This experience provided him with invaluable insights into navigating complex corporate landscapes while remaining grounded in his cultural values. Throughout his career, Steven has championed initiatives that promote social responsibility and positive impact within the Indigenous community.
Driven by a desire to make an even greater contribution, Steven brings his experience, cultural wisdom, and unwavering commitment to Yalanji Dreaming. He leads the team with a collaborative spirit, fostering a space where innovation and cultural sensitivity converge to create meaningful change.
